How to accept payment for event tickets in Ukraine: FOP, plata by mono, LiqPay, WayForPay

Updated: ·

Short answer

Register as a FOP (sole proprietor) in single-tax group 2 or 3, or a company, with event-related KVED codes, open a business account and connect internet acquiring: plata by mono or LiqPay charge 1.3% for Ukrainian cards, WayForPay 2%. Set up a PRRO, because card payments require a fiscal receipt. Then connect acquiring to your event page: in AnyEventTool it is a plata by mono token, 0% platform fee, and money arrives the next day.

Key facts

  • Acquiring: plata by mono 1.3% (Ukrainian cards) and 2% (foreign), no monthly fee; LiqPay 1.3% and 2% on the standard plan; WayForPay 2% on successful payments only
  • Payouts: mono the next day; WayForPay the next banking day; LiqPay once a day for accounts at other banks
  • A FOP or a company can connect acquiring; plata by mono requires an account at mono
  • A fiscal receipt for card payments is mandatory for everyone except FOP group 1; the acquirer's confirmation is not a receipt
  • Organizing events is a service, so FOP group 2 or 3 is needed; 2026 income limits: 7,211,598 UAH (group 2), 10,091,049 UAH (group 3)
  • AET connects plata by mono, takes 0% of tickets and never holds the money; PRRO receipts are the organizer's job
  • This is not legal advice: check with an accountant and current State Tax Service guidance

Step by step

  1. 1Choose a FOP group and KVED codes

For events: single-tax group 2 or 3 (or a company) and KVED codes such as 82.30, 90.01 or 93.29.

  2. 2Open a business account

For plata by mono the account must be at mono; LiqPay and WayForPay also work with accounts at other banks.

  3. 3Connect internet acquiring

plata by mono or LiqPay charge 1.3% for Ukrainian cards, WayForPay 2%; all accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  4. 4Set up a PRRO

Connect a PRRO compatible with your acquiring so every card payment gets a fiscal receipt.

  5. 5Connect payments to the event

In AET, paste your plata by mono token under Connect (payment) in paid participation or seat tickets.

  6. 6Make a test payment

Buy a ticket yourself, check the email, PDF and receipt, then refund it.

  7. 7Keep the books

Count income from the full amount paid, watch your group limit and keep refund receipts.

Which setup fits your situation?

Regular paid events, money straight to your accountFOP group 2–3 + internet acquiring + PRRO + an event tool that uses your acquiringLowest fees, but accounting and receipts are on you

Large concert that needs box offices and someone else's audienceContract with a ticketing agentThe agent sells on your behalf; terms are in the contract
One-off event without a FOPAn agent, or a partner organizer who has a FOPDo not take regular ticket payments to a personal card — talk to an accountant

Ticketing services of both kinds are compared in ticket-selling services in Ukraine.

Step 1. FOP: which group and which KVED codes

Organizing events is a service, so FOP group 1 does not fit: it may only trade at markets and provide household services to the public. Group 2 serves individuals and single-tax payers; group 3 serves any client, including companies (Tax Code, art. 291.4, (checked 2026-10-01)).

Income limits for 2026: group 1 — 1,444,049 UAH, group 2 — 7,211,598 UAH, group 3 — 10,091,049 UAH (State Tax Service, (checked 2026-10-01)). Income is counted including the bank's commission: if a guest paid 500 UAH and 493.50 UAH arrived, your income is 500 UAH (State Tax Service, (checked 2026-10-01)).

KVED codes organizers usually choose (classifier DK 009:2010, (checked 2026-10-01)):

KVEDNameWhen it fits
82.30Organization of conventions and trade showsConferences, meetings, forums
90.01Performing artsConcerts, performances
90.02Support activities to performing artsProducing, technical support
93.29Other amusement and recreation activitiesParties, quizzes, entertainment events
79.90Other reservation service activitiesSelling tickets for events

From 1 January 2027 Ukraine introduces the new NACE 2.1-UA classifier (State Statistics Service order No. 191, (checked 2026-10-01)), so the codes will change — check the mapping when you register or update your data.

As a promotion, new plata by mono clients have been offered 0% for the first 30 days (check it is still running) (per the plata by mono page, (checked 2026-10-01)). It also matters which event tools each acquirer works with: AET connects only plata by mono; PassOne connects WayForPay, monobank and Platon; RegToEVENT uses your own processor, WayForPay among others.

What does acquiring cost in three scenarios?

1,000 tickets × 300 UAH300,000 UAH3,900 UAH6,000 UAH21,000 UAH

Calculated for Ukrainian cards; foreign cards cost 2% with all three. Add the cost of your PRRO (some options are free, see below) and the ticketing service's own fee, if any: AET has none, while agents and some platforms charge from a few percent up to 10% — see ticket fees compared.

Step 3. Fiscal receipts: when you need a PRRO

  • General rule. A seller accepting card payments, including online, must give the buyer a settlement document — a fiscal receipt (Law No. 265/95-VR, art. 3, (checked 2026-10-01)).
  • Who is exempt. Only FOP group 1 (Tax Code, para. 296.10). For groups 2–4 and companies there have been no group-based exemptions since 1 January 2022 (State Tax Service explanation, (checked 2026-10-01)).
  • Services provided in person. If the service is provided in person (an offline event), the PRRO applies; the exception covers only purely electronic goods delivered online where the place of settlement cannot be determined (same source).
  • The acquirer's confirmation is not a receipt. A payment confirmation from a bank or payment service is not a settlement document (State Tax Service, (checked 2026-10-01)).
  • When to issue. No later than the service is provided; if payment and service coincide, at the moment of payment (State Tax Service, (checked 2026-10-01)).
  • Account-to-account bank transfers without a card need no PRRO (State Tax Service, (checked 2026-10-01)).

PRRO options: plata by mono integrates with Checkbox, Vchasno.Kasa (up to 300 free receipts a month), e-check and Online Kasa (plata by mono integrations, (checked 2026-10-01)); LiqPay has its own RRO service with free connection and automatic fiscalization (LiqPay, (checked 2026-10-01)); WayForPay has a free PRRO that fiscalizes every payment and emails the receipt to the buyer (wayforpay.com/uk/rro, (checked 2026-10-01)).

AET does not issue fiscal receipts. Check in your acquiring dashboard whether the connected PRRO fiscalizes payments automatically, and make a test purchase before sales start.

Step 4. Connect payments to your event page in AET

  1. Create an event at https://aet.events/en/events and add Registration and paid participation (one place per person, tiers) or Seat tickets (a number of tickets or a hall map).
  2. Click Connect (payment) and paste the plata by mono token from your mono business dashboard. AET checks it with a live request, stores it encrypted and afterwards shows only a mask.
  3. Set prices, tiers or price categories.
  4. Make a test purchase, check the ticket email and the receipt from your PRRO, then refund it from AET.

AET takes 0% of tickets and never holds the money: the guest pays on mono's page and the money reaches your account the next day. More on selling: how to sell event tickets without platform fees; seat maps: how to sell reserved seats with a seating chart.

Common mistakes

  • FOP group 1 for events. It cannot provide such services — choose group 2 or 3.
  • Treating the bank confirmation as a receipt. Without a PRRO you are not issuing a settlement document.
  • Counting income "after fees". Tax is calculated on the full amount the guest paid.
  • Taking payments to a personal card. Not a solution for regular ticket sales; talk to an accountant.
  • Exceeding the group limit. A few large events a year can bring you close to the group 2 limit (7,211,598 UAH in 2026). Track your year-to-date total and plan a switch in advance.
  • Not checking refunds. Refunds must be reflected in your accounting too; check how your PRRO records them.
  • Forgetting foreign cards. Guests from abroad cost 2%; include it in the price.

Pre-launch checklist

  1. FOP in group 2–3 or a company registered, KVED codes match the activity.
  2. Business account open; for plata by mono, an account at mono.
  3. Acquiring connected, token or keys received.
  4. PRRO set up and checked on a test payment.
  5. Acquiring connected to the event page, prices set.
  6. Refund policy published on the page.
  7. Test purchase and refund done.
  8. Your accountant knows where and when money arrives and how income is counted.

Questions and answers

What does accepting card payments cost in Ukraine?

On standard plans: plata by mono and LiqPay charge 1.3% for Ukrainian cards and 2% for foreign ones; WayForPay charges 2% on successful payments (checked 2026-10-01). Ticketing services may add their own fee; AET's is 0%.

Do I need a PRRO to sell tickets online?

Yes, if you are a FOP in group 2 or 3 or a company accepting card payments: the acquirer's confirmation is not a receipt. The exception is an account-to-account transfer without a card.

Which FOP group should an event organizer choose?

Group 2 if your clients are individuals and single-tax payers, or group 3 if companies and anyone else may pay you. Group 1 cannot provide event-organizing services.

When does the money arrive?

plata by mono pays out the next day, WayForPay the next banking day, LiqPay once a day for accounts at other banks. With AET the money never passes through AET.

Can I connect LiqPay or WayForPay to AET?

Not at the moment: in Ukraine AET connects plata by mono. If you need LiqPay or WayForPay specifically, see services with your own acquiring in ticket-selling services in Ukraine.

Can I accept payments from foreign guests?

Yes. All three acquirers accept foreign cards at 2%. Stripe is not available to businesses registered in Ukraine (stripe.com/global, checked 2026-10-01).

Is this legal advice?

No. We collected the rules from official sources as of 1 October 2026, but your situation may differ; check with an accountant and current State Tax Service guidance.
