How do I sell merch at my events?

Updated: · AnyEventTool

Short answer

Put a small catalog where your guests already are — on the event page, in your community and on a standalone storefront — and let them pay online and pick up at the venue or get delivery. In AnyEventTool (AET) you add products with variants and stock in your shop, show chosen items on the event page, and guests pay straight into your own mono or Stripe account. AET takes 0%; Free allows 5 items on sale, Pro 50.

Key facts

  • AET platform fee on shop sales: 0% on Free and Pro
  • Items on sale at the same time: Free 5, Pro 50; creating products is unlimited
  • Products have photos, variants (size, color), stock and fulfilment options; services have price and terms
  • Fulfilment: Nova Poshta delivery or pickup at the event
  • Orders: statuses, Nova Poshta waybill number, shipped mark, refunds, Excel export (30 days, year, all time)
  • Standalone storefront at aet.market/yourbrand: Pro only
  • Shop admins: Free 1, Pro up to 10, with permissions

Step by step

  1. 1Configure the shop

    In My workspace → Shop → Settings set name, currency, fulfilment defaults and connect your mono or Stripe account.

  2. 2Add products

    Create products with photos, variants, stock and fulfilment options, or services with price and terms.

  3. 3Put items on sale

    Choose which items are on sale: up to 5 on Free, up to 50 on Pro.

  4. 4Show them on the event page

    Add the Shop section to your event, pick items, write a caption and optionally place product stickers.

  5. 5Take orders

    Follow new paid orders in Orders, add Nova Poshta waybills or mark pickup orders.

  6. 6Hand out at the venue

    Export orders to Excel and check names at the merch table.

What sells well at events?

Merch works when it is a souvenir of a moment people enjoyed or a tool they will use. Typical bestsellers:

  • T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags with the event or community identity;
  • books and printed materials by speakers;
  • recordings, slides or course access sold as a service;
  • workshop kits and consumables for hands-on events;
  • limited editions tied to one date or venue.

Keep the range small. Three to five well-chosen items usually sell better than twenty, and they are easier to stock and hand out.

Should I sell online before the event or only at the merch table?

Both, ideally:

  • Pre-orders online tell you sizes and quantities before you print, and guests pick up at the venue with no cash or queue.
  • Sales at the table catch impulse buyers. A QR code on the table that opens the shop lets people pay by phone in seconds.
  • After the event, a storefront link in your bio, newsletter or community keeps selling to people who could not come.

A single catalog serving all three keeps stock consistent; a paper list at the table plus a separate online shop usually ends in overselling.

How do I set up a shop in AET?

AET gives each account one shop. Products live in My workspace → Shop and can be shown on any of your event pages, in your community and on an aet.market storefront.

  1. Open My workspace → Shop → Settings: shop name, description, currency, default fulfilment options (Nova Poshta, pickup at the event), terms, and payment connection (your plata by mono token or a restricted Stripe key).
  2. In Products and services, add items with photos, variants such as size and color, stock levels and fulfilment options. Services get a price and terms. Organize them into catalog categories of any depth.
  3. Put items on sale (Free: 5 at a time, Pro: 50). Unlimited items can sit in stock while not on sale.
  4. On the event page, add the Shop section from the library, pick items and write a caption. You can scatter up to 40 product stickers across the page that open the product.
  5. Optionally enable the Shop tab in your community and, on Pro, open a storefront at aet.market/yourbrand.

What does the buyer experience look like?

The guest sees a showcase, adds items to a cart, chooses delivery or pickup, and pays on your payment provider's page. Afterwards they see "my order" with its status. Payment goes into your own account; AET does not hold the money and takes 0%.

How do I handle orders and fulfilment?

Orders shows every order with its status. You can enter a Nova Poshta waybill number (TTN), mark an order as shipped, refund or cancel it, resend the email and add a note. You get a notification in AET and an email for every new paid order.

Export orders to Excel for the last 30 days, the year or all time — useful for accounting and for packing lists before the event. Add shop admins with permissions (for example, orders only) so a volunteer can handle pickups without access to everything else: Free allows 1 shop admin, Pro up to 10.

Do I need the aet.market storefront?

Not to sell at events: the shop on event pages works on Free. The storefront (Pro) is for selling between events. It gives you an address like aet.market/yourbrand for your Instagram bio, the QR code on the merch stand and newsletters. It has a catalog, search and sorting, shows up to 6 of your upcoming events, lets you set a caption and accent color, shows views and orders statistics, and gives you a downloadable PNG QR code.

What are the legal and practical points?

  • You are the seller. Taxes, fiscal receipts and consumer rights follow your country's rules; AET is not a payment institution.
  • Stock discipline. Update stock after table sales so online buyers do not order sold-out sizes.
  • Pickup process. Print the order list from Excel and check names at the table.
  • Shipping. Delivery is built around Nova Poshta, the main parcel service in Ukraine; for other countries, use pickup or arrange shipping yourself.

If you need a full online store with marketing automation, a dedicated e-commerce platform will do more. AET's shop is meant for organizers who sell around their events.
