## Short answer

For 100 tickets at 20 USD, total fees with US cards come to about 88 USD on AnyEventTool (processing only), 148 USD on Tito, 188 USD on Luma's free plan and 311 USD on Eventbrite; Ticket Tailor adds 0.60 GBP + VAT per ticket on top of processing. Fixed per-ticket fees hurt cheap tickets most, and percentage fees hurt expensive ones. Rates were read on each vendor's own site on 1 October 2026.

## What exactly are we comparing?

Every paid ticket has up to two costs: the **platform fee** (what the ticketing tool charges) and **payment processing** (what the card processor charges). Some platforms include processing in their fee; most do not. To compare fairly, we add both and show the formula for one ticket.

Assumptions for all tables:

- US cards, one ticket per order, prices in USD;
- Stripe US standard rate for processing: 2.9% + 0.30 USD per payment, calculated on the ticket price;
- platform fees exactly as published on each vendor's site on 2026-10-01;
- the organizer's total cost is shown, regardless of whether the buyer or the organizer pays it;
- Ticket Tailor's GBP fee is converted at an illustrative 1 GBP = 1.30 USD, before VAT — use your own rate.

## What are the formulas?

| Platform | Platform fee per ticket | Processing | Formula for a ticket priced P |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnyEventTool (AET) | 0% | Your Stripe (or plata by mono in Ukraine) | 0.029 × P + 0.30 |
| Tito | 3%, capped at 25 EUR (2.5% for charities and community organizations) | Stripe or PayPal, separate | 0.03 × P + 0.029 × P + 0.30 |
| Luma free plan | 5% | Stripe, separate | 0.05 × P + 0.029 × P + 0.30 |
| Luma Plus | 0% + 59 USD a month billed annually (69 USD monthly) | Stripe, separate | 0.029 × P + 0.30, plus the subscription |
| Ticket Tailor | 0.60 GBP + VAT pay-as-you-go; from 0.22 GBP prepaid | Stripe or other, separate | 0.60 GBP + VAT + 0.029 × P + 0.30 |
| Eventbrite US | 3.7% + 1.79 USD | 2.9% per order | 0.037 × P + 1.79 + 0.029 × P |

## Scenario 1: 100 tickets at 20 USD (gross 2,000 USD)

| Platform | Per ticket | Total fees | Share of gross | Who pays by default |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AET + Stripe | 0.88 USD | 88 USD | 4.4% | Organizer |
| Tito + Stripe | 1.48 USD | 148 USD | 7.4% | Organizer |
| Luma Plus + Stripe | 0.88 USD + subscription | 157 USD with one month at 69 USD | 7.9% | Organizer |
| Ticket Tailor (pay-as-you-go) + Stripe | 0.60 GBP + VAT + 0.88 USD | 60 GBP + VAT + 88 USD, about 166 USD before VAT | about 8.3% before VAT | Organizer |
| Luma free + Stripe | 1.88 USD | 188 USD | 9.4% | Organizer |
| Eventbrite US | 3.11 USD | 311 USD | 15.6% | Buyer |

At this size a subscription rarely pays off, and Eventbrite's fixed 1.79 USD makes up most of its cost.

## Scenario 2: 300 tickets at 50 USD (gross 15,000 USD)

| Platform | Per ticket | Total fees | Share of gross | Who pays by default |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AET + Stripe | 1.75 USD | 525 USD | 3.5% | Organizer |
| Luma Plus + Stripe | 1.75 USD + subscription | 594 USD with one month at 69 USD | 4.0% | Organizer |
| Ticket Tailor (pay-as-you-go) + Stripe | 0.60 GBP + VAT + 1.75 USD | 180 GBP + VAT + 525 USD, about 759 USD before VAT | about 5.1% before VAT | Organizer |
| Tito + Stripe | 3.25 USD | 975 USD | 6.5% | Organizer |
| Luma free + Stripe | 4.25 USD | 1,275 USD | 8.5% | Organizer |
| Eventbrite US | 5.09 USD | 1,527 USD | 10.2% | Buyer |

With higher ticket prices, flat-fee models (Ticket Tailor) and subscriptions (Luma Plus) start to beat percentage fees.

## Scenario 3: 1,000 tickets at 10 USD (gross 10,000 USD)

| Platform | Per ticket | Total fees | Share of gross | Who pays by default |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AET + Stripe | 0.59 USD | 590 USD | 5.9% | Organizer |
| Luma Plus + Stripe | 0.59 USD + subscription | 659 USD with one month at 69 USD | 6.6% | Organizer |
| Tito + Stripe | 0.89 USD | 890 USD | 8.9% | Organizer |
| Luma free + Stripe | 1.09 USD | 1,090 USD | 10.9% | Organizer |
| Ticket Tailor (pay-as-you-go) + Stripe | 0.60 GBP + VAT + 0.59 USD | 600 GBP + VAT + 590 USD, about 1,370 USD before VAT | about 13.7% before VAT | Organizer |
| Eventbrite US | 2.45 USD | 2,450 USD | 24.5% | Buyer |

Cheap tickets are where fixed costs dominate: Stripe's 0.30 USD, Ticket Tailor's 0.60 GBP and Eventbrite's 1.79 USD are each a large share of a 10 USD ticket. Ticket Tailor's prepaid credits (from 0.22 GBP) narrow that gap.

## What changes outside the US?

- **International cards.** Stripe US adds 1.5% for international cards and 1% if currency conversion is needed ([stripe.com/pricing](https://stripe.com/pricing), (checked 2026-10-01)). A 20 USD ticket paid with a foreign card costs about 1.18 USD to process instead of 0.88 USD.
- **Europe.** Stripe Ireland charges 1.5% + 0.25 EUR for standard EEA cards and 3.15% + 0.25 EUR for international cards ([stripe.com/ie/pricing](https://stripe.com/ie/pricing), (checked 2026-10-01)).
- **United Kingdom.** Eventbrite's UK fee is 6.95% + 0.59 GBP per ticket with processing included ([Eventbrite UK help](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/help/en-gb/articles/755615/how-much-does-it-cost-for-organizers-to-use-eventbrite/), (checked 2026-10-01)).
- **Ukraine.** Stripe is not available to Ukrainian businesses ([stripe.com/global](https://stripe.com/global), (checked 2026-10-01)). With AET you use plata by mono at 1.3% for Ukrainian cards: 650 UAH on 100 tickets at 500 UAH. ## What the tables do not show

- **Discovery.** Eventbrite's and Luma's listings can bring buyers you would not reach otherwise. That reach has value that a fee table cannot show.
- **Refund rules.** Eventbrite does not refund its fees when you refund a ticket, unless the event is cancelled or postponed ([Eventbrite help](https://www.eventbrite.com/help/en-us/articles/548304/is-the-eventbrite-fee-refundable/), (checked 2026-10-01)).
- **Who sees the fee.** A fee paid by the buyer does not reduce your payout but raises the checkout total, which can lower sales.
- **Merchant duties.** With AET (and with Stripe-based tools generally) you are the merchant: taxes, receipts and disputes are yours. See [how to sell event tickets without platform fees](/en/learn/how-to-sell-event-tickets-without-platform-fees).
- **Features.** Seat maps, check-in roles, reminders and apps differ; compare them in [AET vs Eventbrite](/en/learn/aet-vs-eventbrite) and [AET vs Luma](/en/learn/aet-vs-luma).

## How do I pick based on these numbers?

1. **Cheap tickets (under about 15 USD):** avoid high fixed per-ticket fees; processing-only tools such as AET keep the most.
2. **Expensive tickets (100 USD and more):** flat per-ticket fees like Ticket Tailor's become negligible; compare features instead.
3. **High monthly volume on Luma:** Luma Plus pays for itself once 5% of your monthly ticket sales exceeds the subscription.
4. **Charity or community event:** check Tito's 2.5% rate, Ticket Tailor's 50% charity discount, and nonprofit-only tools.
5. **You need the audience:** accept Eventbrite's fee as a marketing cost, and recompute per ticket so you price correctly.

## Questions and answers

**Which ticketing platform has the lowest fees?**

In our three US scenarios, AnyEventTool has the lowest total because it charges 0% and only Stripe processing applies. For expensive tickets, Ticket Tailor's flat fee and Luma Plus's subscription come close.

**Why do cheap tickets have higher fee percentages?**

Because of fixed parts: Stripe's 0.30 USD, Eventbrite's 1.79 USD or Ticket Tailor's 0.60 GBP are the same on a 10 USD ticket as on a 100 USD ticket.

**Is Luma Plus worth it?**

When 5% of your monthly paid-ticket sales exceeds the subscription (59 USD a month billed annually, 69 USD monthly). Below that, the free plan's 5% is cheaper.

**Does the buyer or the organizer pay these fees?**

On Eventbrite the buyer pays by default; on Luma, Tito, Ticket Tailor and AET the platform fee and processing come out of the organizer's revenue unless you raise the price.

**Can I recompute these numbers for my event?**

Yes. Use the formula table with your ticket price and number of orders, and check current rates on each vendor's pricing page. Several tickets in one order share Stripe's 0.30 USD, so group orders cost slightly less to process.

**Who wrote this comparison?**
